this particular track was actually written much slower and with the finger picking parts pervading. it evolved in the mixing process and i starting hearing all of these other things going on...whimsical pianos complemented by a countering electric guitar part, a steady kick drum and a ride symbol. it evolved in to what it is and actually sounded kind of fun.
the lyrics are more of a serious note. they depict the life of the apostle Peter...walking on water, being crucified upside down, falling asleep in the garden of Gethsemane and witnessing Jesus sweat blood (hence "Beaded Blood"). what an amazing life and what wild things he witnessed!
lyrics
stepping from the water and,
my feet they would stick to sand,
hang me upside down
and tell me i am not a man,
but what i hope is true,
and what i see is You,
and what i hope is true,
and what i dream is of You,
stopping in the dead of night,
my eyes they had shut out light,
when i had awoke the blood,
it had bead on His head,
but what i hope is true,
and what i see is You,
and what i hope is true,
and what i dream is of You.
